Technology is what helps people connect to each other and share information. As a city we can better integrate technology so we can better connect with you--whether that's so you can pay your garbage and water bills on your iPhone, let us know about a pothole on your street or give feedback on an issue before the city council.
Equipping our city with new technology will lower long term costs and streamline services to residents. We also can use technology to better engage our residents in the public process.
Some ways we can use technology:
- Create a city app similar to Sacramento 311 or My Santa Rosa to help residents connect to city services and report issues quickly and see the status of staff response
- 55% of internet usage is on smartphones and tablets. Update the city website to work on these platforms and make it easier to find what you're looking for
- Provide license and permit applications online to save residents and city staff time
